U18s win again to go fourth as schoolboy forward shines

West Ham’s U18 side convincingly beat West Bromwich Albion 3-1 yesterday afternoon, and there
were some new faces to boost the team as a few regulars were involved in U21 action against Spurs on Monday night.

This is the second successive win for the young side who had previously suffered a bad spell, but the confidence seems to be back to the Barclays U18 Premier League Tier One team.

West Brom took the lead first, but schoolboy forward Djair Parfitt-Williams scored to bring the game to 1-1 before doubling his tally after half time.

An own goal completed the afternoon’s scoring, but the win was deserved as the Hammers came out the stronger side in the second half.

West Ham were at the bottom of the league, but two consecutive wins have lifted them to fourth with the same points as Liverpool in third. They could overtake the Reds on Saturday when they face
Sunderland, providing that other results go their way.
