Alf a minute: Finnbogason's agent admits contact from England

Amid reports earlier this week that a whole host of clubs, including West Ham, have been watching Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason, the Iceland international's agent has moved to clarify the situation.

Magnus Agnar Magnusson told Italian newspaper calciomercato that despite reports from Italy claiming that AC Milan legend and current Heerenveen boss Marco van Basten had tipped off his former club about the 24 year old, there has been no contact from the Italian giants- but there has been interest from the Premier League.

"Nobody from AC Milan has called me and I am inclined to believe this is just a rumour, Finnbogason's agent said yesterday.

"We have been in touch with English clubs, but there is no rush. The English league is one of the best in the world and Finnbogason has the quality to emerge in one of Europe's top leagues but for the moment, he only wants to think about finishing the season well with his club."

Another one to watch...
