Carroll non-story alert- Daily Star in lazy journalism shocker

In a story which has made Sky Sports this morning, the Daily Star are reporting that on loan West Ham striker "fears that any chance of a summer escape is doomed unless Liverpool drop their asking price."

Not really a story in the first place; the Sun reported on Saturday that the Irons will offer Liverpool £10m in the summer for the England man, which was then followed by Sports Direct News' exclusive yesterday that the Hammers hierarchy will make Carroll their number one transfer target in the summer.

However, the line from the Star this morning is that the 24 year old would "love to return for a second spell at hometown club Newcastle."

This claim is supported by the paper's 'source,' which states that "Andy is realistic about next season and is not expecting to be back at Newcastle or West Ham. He is prepared to go back and fight for his place at Liverpool, where he feels there is unfinished business."

Yeah.. interesting how that ostentatiously original 'source' looks like the source quoted in yesterday morning's  Evening Chronicle, innit? Almost identical, in fact..

Watch yourselves, kids. Lot of baloney out there and the transfer window hasn't even opened yet!
