Rodgers to hedge bets: no decision yet from Kop boss on Carroll

Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers has told Fox News that he will not be making any decision on the future of on-loan West Ham striker Andy Carroll until the end of the season.

Reports this morning, notably from that Merseyside favourite, the Sun, suggested that the Reds chief is of a mind to give England star Carroll another chance to fight for his place at Anfield, but Rodgers is remaining cagey on the issue.

"It's been a difficult season for Andy because he wanted to play every week while on loan but has picked up some injuries. We've had representatives at most West Ham games though and have monitored the situation very closely."

"He scored two very good goals at the weekend and will want to end the season on a high, but his future is nothing to discuss now- we'll speak about it at the end of the season."

Plenty of food for thought ahead of Sunday, and indeed the rest of the season, for Liverpool and West Ham fans...
