Irons injury crisis ameliorated- Reid and Noble both in squad to face United

In great news for West Ham ahead of tomorrow night's game at home to Manchester United, centre half Winston Reid and midfielder Mark Noble have both passed fitness tests and will be in Sam Allardyce's 20-man squad for the Premier League clash at the Boleyn Ground.

Reid had missed the last two games with a hip problem picked up during the 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion a fortnight ago and was not expected to be ready to face the Red Devils, but co-chairman David Gold tweeted ten minutes ago "Great news. Winston Reid & Mark Noble have past (sic) fitness tests and are in the squad for tomorrow's game. Sadly James Tomkins hasn't made it."

The return of Noble will also be a big boost to the squad, who have missed the midfielder's energy and drive, with the local boy having been sidelined since the defeat by Tottenham in February. Last month, Noble was reported to be out for the season but his rehabilitation progressed much quicker than expected and was primed for a comeback against Sir Alex Ferguson's men, as reported exclusively to you by Blowing Bubbles last week.

The only disappointment is the news that Tomkins is still sidelined with the calf problem that forced him off against Southampton on Saturday. The defender's return date is not yet known but as ever, we'll keep you bang up to date with all the latest so keep watching Blowing Bubbles!
