Looks like that's Rat! Romania star on brink of Hammers move, says agent

Reports from Romania claim that Shakhtar Donetsk full back Razvan Rat will sign for West Ham in the next week. The 31 year old is out of contract at the end of the season and after a proposed move to Marseille stalled, looks set to move to Upton Park- and the deal could be done any day now.

In an interview with Romanian website Ziare.com, Rat's agent Florin Manea  revealed that he and his client have been in talks with the Irons for three months and a three year deal has been offered to the Romania international, a deal described by Manea as "very advantageous."

The agent says he "would advise a Premier League move," despite Shaktar offering to extend Rat's contract. The deal from the Ukrainian side is that it would only be a one year extension and with a reduced salary, so not as attractive as a lucrative move to England.

Rat is currently said to be considering his options, with interest from unnamed Turkish clubs, as well as Marseille. However, the Hammers are the first to make a formal offer, says Manea, and states that "we will give an answer to West Ham shortly.. if it is positive, Rat will probably go to London next week and sign."
