A right Royal carry-on: Hammers hitman Cole for Reading?

West Ham striker Carlton Cole could be set for a summer move to Reading, the rumour mill would appear to have it.

Reading manager Nigel Adkins admitted that he already has one eye on next season and is known to be a big fan of one-time England forward Cole, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

The story first flared up a few days ago and was reported by several papers and Sky Sports and seemingly will not go away.

Cole is currently in negotiations with the Hammers board over a new contract but the two parties are some way apart in their negotiations, as we reported to you last week and Reading are said to be monitoring the situation closely.

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is also said to be keen on the big striker, having tried to sign him in summer 2011 following the Irons' relegation from the Premier League, so Cole could have a few options open in the summer.
