Allardyce coy on "game-turner" Carroll

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce Sam Allardyce will not make any decision on loan star Andy Carroll until the end of the season, Sky Sports are reporting this morning.

The England striker struck an important equaliser at Southampton on Saturday and has now scored five goals in his last seven games, but the Irons boss will not commit to a permanent move for the big frontman until the end of the season.

"We'll make a decision on all the loan players at the end of the season," the 59 year old stated today.

"Andy's goals have summed up what a good goalscorer and good player he is- when we've needed him, he's produced and that's what you need, someone who can turn a game for you."

Carroll himself yesterday hinted that he would be open to making his move to East London permanent, stating that he would be potentially keen to stay at West Ham, who he says is a "great" club, with "unbelievable" fans.

Allardyce has in recent weeks made clear his intentions to sign the 24 year old.. this is all just chinese whispers at the moment but the fact that Carroll, in his own words, 'doesn't see why not' in relation to moving to Upton Park permanently is surely encouraging. Sam's right to keep his cards close to his chest on this one for the time being however...
