Unfortunately for the West Ham Development Squad, there was no planned outing to Southampton last night, as the match was postponed just hours before kick off.
Young Irons keeper Jake Larkins was involved in a car crash on the A12 near Harold Park while driving to meet his teammates ahead of the match and suffered only minor injuries, but a report on whufc.com implies that this was the reason for the postponement.
The squad were readying themselves for the big match, which they needed to win to push on for a Play-Off spot, but will now have to wait for a fresh date.
Nick Haycock’s side now face Wolves in their next match at Rush Green on Friday, and we hope they can keep their fitness and momentum going.
