Lille poised to flog ex Chelsea star Kalou- Irons interested

Ligue One side Lille are ready to offload Ivory Coast striker Salomon Kalou, according to French sports daily L'Equipe, which could mean a return to England for the former Chelsea forward.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is a known admirer of the pacy frontman, who scored 36 goals in 156 appearances during his time in England- not a bad record, given that he never tied down a regular starting place in the Blues' team.

The only drawback to signing the 27 year old would be his £2.4m-a-year wages, which is largely why Lille want rid; but given that the club are reportedly prepared to spend in excess of £10m on Kalou's Ivory Coast teammate Wilfried Bony, who would also expect wages in the region of £80,000, the former Feyenoord player would appear to be a relatively cheap option in comparison.

This isn't the first time the Hammers have been linked with Kalou, but should they make a move, they would reportedly face competition from London rivals Fulham. Third time that's happened today; the Cottagers are also said to be keen on West Ham targets Fernando Amorebieta and Hordur Bgorgvin Magnusson.. stand down lads.
