Nolan and Noble set to miss London derby as Hammers injury woes continue

Blowing Bubbles understands that both captain Kevin Nolan and fellow midfielder Mark Noble will miss this Sunday's trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea. Nolan, a club source revealed last night, was willing to take pain-killing injections to get him through the game after suffering a broken toe against Tottenham last month, but West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is apparently unwillingly to risk his star man worsening the injury. Academy graduate Noble meanwhile was set to face a fitness test on his shoulder, in which he suffered nerve damage before the defeat to Tottenham at the end of Febraury and which caused him to miss that game and the win at Stoke City two weeks ago; however, it is now believed that club medical staff have told Allardyce that the injury is at a stage that Noble does not have even a slight chance of playing this weekend. Winger Matty Taylor, however, is in contention for a return for first team action; as exclusively reported to you yesterday by Blowing Bubbles; two weeks after being knocked out at Stoke. We'll give you more on all this as soon as we hear it.
