Allardyce praises Collison impact

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has said that the win at Stoke was made even better by the influence that Jack Collison had on the game.

Despite an ongoing battle with his knee injury, Collison came on as an early substitute for Matt Taylor and scored the only goal of the game in first half stoppage time.

Allardyce believes that Jack’s struggle with his knee makes each performance worthy of credit.

He told the Daily Mail: "I was delighted to see Jack grab the winner after the problems he has overcome with his knee injury.

"The professional and highly-qualified medical staff make sure he does the right prevention so it is kept it in a stable condition.

"That's a big dedication from him as well as he has to be relatively bored most of the time in the week when everybody is training. He has to continue to do that and it's a credit to him that he's able to."

Collison’s goal got the Hammers all three points, and with it he has provided a little breather from the lack of away form. It’s not all doom and gloom!
