Away form baffles Diame- midfielder demands performance at Chelsea

West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame is looking ahead to this weekend’s match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with a positive mindset.

Diame is confident that the Hammers can build on their win at Stoke to gain a further three points in the Premier League campaign.

The Senegal international told whufc.com: "It's about confidence, it's eleven v eleven on the pitch whether we're at home or away...I don't know why we haven't got better results when we've played away this season, so the Stoke result was very important for us and now we can look forward to the Chelsea game.

"We have to go there, give our best on the pitch and try to put them in trouble. Winning at Stoke gives us belief and that's important.”

He recalls the last meeting between to two clubs and says that scoring against Chelsea in the 3-1 win at Upton Park was the best feeling he’s had at the club so far.

Diame will play a key role this weekend against the Blues. He may well have to deal with an on form ex teammate in the form of Chelsea striker Victor Moses, and he said: "I still speak to Victor, he's a very good guy and he's my friend. He's a very good player and I'm looking forward to coming up against him.”

If Diame can spread his positivity around the squad in training this week, there is no reason why West Ham can’t gain at least a point against a shaky Chelsea side.
