EXCLUSIVE: Gary O'Neill set to be offered new West Ham contract

Blowing Bubbles understands that midfielder Gary O'Neill will be offered an extension to his Upton Park contract when his current deal runs out in the summer. The former Portsmouth man has played an unexpectedly important role in the side this season, with injuries and suspensions meaning that O'Neill, who signed from Championship side Middlesbrough in January 2011, has made a total of 18 appearances for the Hammers so far this term; and now is set to be offered a new contract at the Boleyn Ground. The versatile midfielder is still only 29 and the club still clearly feel he has a lot to give, having recovered from a serious injury towards the back end of the 2010/2011 season to re-establish himself in the first team reckoning and will likely be offered a long-term deal. More on this as soon as we hear it.
