Dan's the man: young defender Potts makes England U19 squad for friendly

West Ham's young full back Dan Potts has made the final cut for Noel Blake's England U19 squad for their final friendly, against Turkey at Telford United's New Buck's Head ground later this month, before they head off to  Belgium in May for the Elite Qualifying Round and a bid to qualify for this summer's U19 European Championships in Lithuania. If selected, the 18 year old will make his second appearance for the U19s and will be hoping to make an impact and stake a claim for a regular place in the team ahead of the U19 Euro 2013 qualifying matches.

This is a real achievement for Potts, having suffered a serious head injury in the 5-1 defeat against Arsenal at the end of January; which he's fought back from and is now back playing regularly for the Development Squad. We all know he's a fighter; having overcome being diagnosed with leukaemia aged 12 to sign professional terms with the Hammers and make his first team debut in a 1-0 win against Barnsley last season aged 17. All the best Dan!
