Flaming El! Hammers linked with Holland international Elia

West Ham could move to sign Dutch international Eljero Elia in the summer, the East London and West Essex Guardian is reporting today. The 26 year old, who starred in the World Cup three years ago for his national side, currently plies his trade in Germany for Champions League side Werder Bremen and has earned rave reviews for his performances so far, since moving from Juventus last year after an unhappy spell in Italy. West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is desperate to strengthen his team in the summer, with a series of injuries exposing just how weak the Hammers squad really is, and with Elia's experience on the big stage, he well could be the man to push the Irons onto the next level next season.
