EXCLUSIVE: Hammers to ditch Macron and re-ignite '80s kit deal with sports giants Adidas

Blowing Bubbles understands that at the end of the season, West Ham will end their kit sponsorship deal with Macron and sign a lucrative kit deal with sports colossus Adidas. It's all go with the Hammers' kit as our shirt sponsorship deal that we've held with betting firm SBOBET for the past four years will expire at the end of the season; as reported by us on February 5; with Alpari, after whom the West Stand is named, are expected to take over; and the deal with kit supplier Macron also runs out in the summer and the lure of being reunited with kit providing giants Adidas, who provided the Irons' kits in the 1980s; including our best-ever season where we came 3rd in the old First Division in 1985/1986, almost winning the league; is apparently too much for the club to resist.

Adidas is, we understand, looking to dominate the football market in the capital and have provided Chelsea's kits since 2006 and look set to take over at Fulham as well; so West Ham are simply all part of the company's bigger plans for their global outreach. This sounds like great news; Macron were a decent kit provider but weren't exactly a big name and were, to be frank, a bit tacky. Adidas is a huge brand name and would bring some fantastic revenue in. Above, you can see what our potential away shirt for the 2013/2014 season would look like.. pretty decent, we reckon! We'll keep you posted with all the latest on this.
