In another good piece of news for us Irons (Christ knows we need some), Mobido Maiga looks set to stay at the club beyond the transfer deadline. French sides Marseille and Bordeaux both expressed an interest in signing the Mali international a few days ago and a loan move looked on the cards, but according to The Ligue One Show's Matt Spiro this morning, Les Girondins have pulled out of the deal after West Ham stated that they would not pay any of the pacy attacker's salary as part of any loan deal; and Sky Sports reported soon afterwards that Bordeaux are now not interested in a deal for the same reason. With our side struggling to score and lacking any real bite in attack, surely it is time for Big Sam to ditch the 4-5-1 and give Maiga his chance up front with Carlton?
