Talking to Sky Sports, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger stated that his club have not made any formal bids for any of their transfer targets- including West Ham star Mohammed Diame. Speaking this afternoon, the Frenchman said "we cannot come out with the names we are on. We have not approached West Ham on that." Whilst any West Ham fan would be a fool to take Arsene Wenger's word at face value, the Gunners' manager's days of mind games would appear to be over- when he says no big signings are happening, that generally is the case these days. As regards Diame's future, Tottenham would appear to be the real threat; particularly as on current form, it seems extremely unlikely that they will not be playing in European competition next season, which could well prove an attraction to the 25 year old.
