Bordeaux plan move for benched Hammer

According to reports in L'Equipe, French side Bordeaux are plotting a late swoop for West Ham striker Mobido Maiga. The Mali international has been in and out of the Hammers team this season and has yet to cement a starting place in the team, and has been linked with a move away from the club all transfer window, with fellow Ligue One outfit Marseille also reportedly interested in the 25 year old. Bordeaux can offer the pacy frontman European football, with Les Girondins set for a last 32 Europa League showdown with Dynamo Kiev, and may opt to take a punt on Maiga to add some much needed firepower to their team ahead of the crunch match. With the Irons signing two new strikers in the form of Wellington Paulista and Marouane Chamakh this transfer window, Maiga's chances of regular first team football are unlikely to improve so may choose to head back to France from whence he came.
