Hammers target Anelka set to sign for Juve

Italian giants Juventus have reached an agreement to sign West Ham transfer target Nicolas Anelka from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, according to ESPN. The Irons have been linked with him for almost the entire transfer window, and although manager Sam Allardyce ruled out signing the former France international, with whom he worked with at previous club Bolton Wanderers, many fans wouldn't have been surprised to see the gaffer make a late play for the journeyman striker. But The Old Lady, five points clear at the top of Serie A, have reportedly tied a deal up with the man known in England as The Incredible Sulk, who is set to sign on a six month contract worth around £600,000. It is unclear at the moment whether Big Sam has any alternative attacking transfer targets in his sights, as the manager's main focus at the moment appears to be solving the left back dilemma and retaining the services of Mohammed Diame, having already signed strikers Wellington Paulista and Marouane Chamakh this transfer window.
