Hammers line up Diame replacement- but Toulouse refuse to sell

With less than 24 hours of the transfer window remaining and star midfielder Mohammed Diame's future still very much hanging in the balance, West Ham have been monitoring Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue, according to TalkSport. The French international has spent his entire career at Toulouse since making his debut in 2007 and is highly rated by the club. As such, they are unwilling to sell him- particularly with his central midfield partner Moussa Sissoko signing for Newcastle United a few days ago. The Ligue One club's manager, Alain Casanova, showed the Irons no love and strongly implied that no deal would be possible before the close of the window. So it looks like it's back to the drawing board yet again for Big Sam, who will be desperate to get midfield reinforcements in after last night's pathetic performance at Craven Cottage.
