Bordeaux in for West Ham striker

Bordeaux are planning a late swoop for Hammers striker Mobido Maiga, according to TalkSport. The pacy frontman, who can alos play on the week, hs been in excellent form for the Irons this season and is the club's joint-top scorer with four goals; despite only four of his eighteen appearances for the club having been starts.

Bordeaux are in the market for a striker after Youan Gouffran's move to Newcastle United, and the Hammers number 11, currently away on international duty with Mali at the African Cup of Nations, would fit the bill. With West Ham having signed two new strikers this month in the form of Marouane Chamakh and Wellington Paulista, the chances of Maiga getting more playing time than he has done so far this season look bleak, and so with Marseille also reportedly interested in his services, the idea of regular first team football back in France from whence he came in the summer could well appeal to the Irons superbsub.
