Villa boss Lambert quiet on wantaway Warnock

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is revealing little about the transfer future of Stephen Warnock, yesteerday linked with West Ham. The ex England international, 31, was widely reported as being set to sign at the Boleyn Ground, but under-fire boss Lambert, 43, told Sky Sports today that "there are things going on at the moment with that side of it, but Stephen is here until I hear otherwise." It is no secret that the Glaswegian wants rid of £40,000- a-week wing Warnock as he looks to cut Villa's wage bill but is so far giving nothing away as to the wing back's future; for all we know, there could be other clubs interested in the player, who impressed on loan at Bolton this season, after being made to train with the reserves by his manager earlier in the season.
