Hammers hopeful over Diame- potential deal tomorrow

In further news on Momo Diame, club sources have told BBC Sport's Ben Smith that West Ham are hopeful the Senegal international will sign a new deal with a club- possibly as early as tomorrow. The Hammers maintain they have not received any inquiries or any bids for the 25 year old, and with the side in poor form, are desperate to tie their star man down to a longer term contract. Having withdrawn one new contract offer, which was believed to include a wage rise taking the player's weekly wage up to £50,000 a week in return for the removal of the release clause inserted in the original contract, the Irons are prepared to renogotiate with the player. However, Blowing Bubbles' source informs us that Diame is not willing to change the clause, and West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is said to be growing weary of what looks like a never-ending contract merry-go-round with the player, and the manager is pursuing other transfer targets to replace Diame in the event that he does leave. With less than ten hours left of the transfer window, a club will have to make a bid soon. It will certainly be interesting to see what what the future holds for Manouevring Momo if no bids are made...
