Carroll set for Anfield exit as Rodgers admits desire to bolster strikeforce

Sky Sports have reported some excellent news in the last hour for West Ham fans desperate for the club to tie on loan Liverpool striker Andy Carroll down to a permanent deal.

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has stated this afternoon his intentions to bolster his striking ranks this summer- potentially paving the way for England man Carroll to seal a permanent move to the Boleyn Ground.

Rodgers said today: "We've scored a lot of goals this season but we obviously need to improve inthat aspect and we need to find one or two players who can make the difference in games like this. We've had a lot of draws this season and need to find the solution for next year."

The Anfield chief had previously hinted that former Newcastle star Carroll could yet feature in his plans for next season, and sources close to Carroll himself claimed that the striker was keen to return to Merseyside, but this is a highly positive development for us Irons in the Andy Carroll saga.
