Hammers players want permanent Carroll deal: Cole

West Ham midfielder Joe Cole has told TalkSport that he and his Irons teammates want the club to sign on loan Liverpool striker Andy Carroll for good this summer.

The Academy graduate, who himself signed from the Reds in January on a free transfer, said today that "West Ham definitely want to keep Andy Carroll."

The 31 year old stated today: "I think all the boys want him to stay at West Ham. The way he's been playing the last couple of weeks, you can see why Liverpoll paid £35m for him a couple of seasons ago. I don't know what Liverpool are thinking but he's our top scorer and West Ham would like to keep him. He's got to do what's right for him though."

A club source revealed last month that the Irons will 'go all out' to sign the England international, while Carroll himself has told of his happiness in East London. Hammers boss Sam Allardyce, however, has fears that the Premier League's new financial restrictions will mean that the club will be priced out of the market for the former Newcastle man.
