Brayford could leave, says Derby boss Clough as Irons linked

Derby County boss Nigel Clough has told the Derby Telegraph that defender John Brayford could leave Pride Park this summer.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is said to be keen on the 25 year old and is keen to add to his squad this summer. The Irons were linked with the Rams star last month and Clough has opened the door for his man to depart.

"There was some interest in him the last two transfer windows," said the Derby manager today.

"I think John will probably want to have a look and see what is out there."

The signing of Brayford would resemble a comparatively cheap option for Allardyce and thus reasonably attractive, given the emphasis the Irons chief has placed upon the need for the club to economise as they build for the future.
