Cole and Noble in contention for starts as no fresh injury concerns for Allardyce

West Ham midfielders Joe Cole and Mark Noble are pushing for places in Sam Allardyce's starting line up against Newcastle United tomorrow, the Daily Mail have reported this morning.

The pair, who have been sidelined for the past few weeks with hamstring and arm injuries respectively have both been improving their fitness in recent weeks and have made substitute appearances in the last couple of games, and now could be ready their first starts in almost three months against the relegation-threatened Magpies tomorrow.

George McCartney (cruciate) and James Tomkins (calf) are Big Sam's only long term injury absentees as their recoveries continue. Left back McCartney is expected to miss the remainder of the season while centre half Tomkins could return in time for the final game of the season against Reading on May 19.

In other news, Brazilian striker Wellington Paulista could be set for a first team debut after also being included in Allardyce's provisional squad for tomorrow's game. The on loan striker has featured on the bench on a number of occasions and has been prolific for the Development Squad since signing from Cruzeiro in January but has yet to make his senior bow.
