Wilf on his way out: striker says he has played his last game for Vitesse

Reported West Ham target Wilfried Bony has told Dutch newspaper NU Sport that he has played his last game for Vitesse Arnhem and now he will consider his next move carefully.

"I hope I have played my last game here," the forward said after the game this weekend.

"Where do I go now? I don't know. First, I need to rest and think."

The 24 year old captained his side to a 1-0 defeat in their last game of the season and finished the Eredivisie season with 31 goals to his name- and will be in much demand over the summer, with the Hammers, Chelsea and AC Milan all among his suitors.

It is likely to cost at least £12m to land the Ivory Coast international and Blowing Bubbles understands that Sam Allardyce's top transfer target this summer is on loan Liverpool striker Andy Carroll, but that Bony is still very much in his mind, and the club held talks in London with the striker's representatives in March.

Irons eyeing Spain star Etxebarria

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has his eye on Real Betis' Benat Extebarria and will bid for the Spain international in the summer, according to reports from Spain.

The 26 year old's agent has confirmed that Extebarria will leave his club at the end of the season and there is no shortage of interest in him, with Italian giants AC Milan said to be among the sides interested in the industrious midfielder.

Hammers scouts travelled to Spain this weekend to watch Extebarria give a highly impressive performance in his side's win over Celta Vigo and a move to London and Premier League football would reportedly hold significant appeal for the player, who would be available for a figure in the region of £5m. Betis are keen to profit while they can, rather than lose Extebarria for nothing next summer when his contract runs out.

Skipper Nolan welcomes 'fantastic' Allardyce contract news and looks forward to new signings

West Ham captain Kevin Nolan has lauded yesterday's news that manager Sam Allardyce has signed a new contract as great news for the club and has declared that there isn't a better man for the Boleyn Ground hotseat.

"It's fantastic news for him and his family and it's fantastic news for all us lads," Nolan told whufc.com.

"If you want the club to move forward, I don't think there is a better man to have at the helm. I've worked under him at Bolton and know what he's about- not just on the pitch but behind the scenes. He's deserved it [the new contract] and I just hope we can get some new faces in and kick on ahead of next season."

Allardyce himself has declared his happiness at signing the new deal, which will keep him in his job at Upton Park until 2016, but has warned that big money summer signings are unlikely.

Under the Hammer: Cole and O'Neil for the chop as Allardyce plans for future

Striker Carlton Cole and midfielder Gary O'Neil could both have played their last game for West Ham as manager Sam Allardyce declares his desire to improve his squad ahead of the club's proposed move to the Olympic Stadium in 2016, the Evening Standard are reporting this afternoon.

Both players are out of contract at the end of the season, and O'Neil last month stated his desire to remain at the club, while Cole has repeatedly reiterated his wish to finish his career at West Ham, amid reported negotiations over a new deal.

Cole's advisors last month rejected suggestions that the England striker had been offered a new deal by the club and given a deadline of May 19 to sign his new contract.

However, Allardyce has today stated the need for financial prudence when it comes to building his squad for next season and hinted that he may cut squad players such as O'Neil and Cole despite their work done for the club.

"The planning has started [for next season and about players' contracts] but it's about affordability. On the money side of it, there is some but it's not fortunes. We've got to improve the team," said the 59 year old today.

According to the newspaper, Allardyce will make a decision about the future of the two players after the final game of the season on Sunday against Reading.

Marseille to gazumph move for Boleyn Ground-bound Bedimo

French giants Marseille are planning to make an 11th hour bid for Montpellier full back Henri Bedimo, according to today's L'Equipe.

The Cameroon international revealed last month that he had a verbal agreement to sign for an unnamed English club in the summer, believed to be West Ham, but Marseille are known to want to rebuild their squad ahead of next season's domestic and European campaigns and the powerful Bedimo could fit the bill defensively for the former European Cup winners.

Friend or Defoe? Allardyce mulls over shock return for Tottenham striker

Rumour has it that West Ham are considering a £7m bid to bring former striker Jermain Defoe back to the Boleyn Ground.

The England striker has scored 11 Premier League goals this season but Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has made clear his desire to bring attacking reinforcements to White Hart Lane this summer, with Brazilian forward Falcao believed to be in his sights, and so first team chances could be limited for the 30 year old Defoe.
Ex Hammer Defoe swapped East London for North London in January 2004 in a move that saw £7m and Bobby Zamora head in the opposite direction and has struggled to establish himself in the first team at Tottenham and left for Portsmouth in January 2009 before returning a few months later.

As such, this is not the first time this story has cropped up; it has been bubbling for some years, seeemingly whenever Defoe's first team chances are limited at Spurs and whenever the Irons are on the lookout for a striker. A return for the Beckton-born centre forward would be seen as an unpredecented move, given the history between Defoe and the Hammers- the striker is roundly booed by West Ham fans, unhappy at what is perceived as a lack of loyalty on the player's part, whenever he plays against their team.

Blowing Bubbles understands that Andy Carroll is the club's number one transfer target this summer and Sam Allardyce would only consider a move for Defoe if signing Carroll was out of the question. One to watch, in the meantime.

Pard-on? Newcastle boss says he wants to sign Irons target Remy

West Ham will face serious competition if they want to land Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy this summer, according to the Daily Star.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is a known admirer of the pacy frontman who has been a shining light in a dismally poor QPR side since signing in January, and the Irons were linked last month with a move for the France international.

However, reports last week suggested that London rivals Arsenal are also keen on the former Marseille star and now Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has registered his interest in Remy for the second time, having tried to sign him in January.

"He has great quality and we need to bring in two strikers this summer- I'm not going to dismiss a player like him," Pardew told the Star.
