No new deal for Diame for now

West Ham will not be offering midfielder Mohammed Diame improved terms on his current contract at the Boleyn Ground unless another club bids for him.

Although no club has yet lodged a bid or made an inquiry for the Senegal international, a club source quoted in Sports Direct News yesterday stated that the Hammers 'didn't expect to get through the summer without any interest in [Diame]. '

It is thought that West Ham will only offer the 26 year old improved terms and attempt to negotiate the raising of the release clause in his current contract, believed to be in the region of £5m, in the event that another club bids for him.

Diame himself has previously stated a desire to remain in East London but has made no comment so far on the Merseyside club's reported interest.
