West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has said that he is not sure whether the wrangle over Colombian striker Duvan Zapata's work permit is worth it.
He said: "It's whether we can get the work permit through, that's the only thing. Based on the fact that he's not a full international, we would have to go to a hearing."
Allardyce said that that he would make a decision on Zupata soon, saying: "We'd have to decide in the next 24 hours whether on our part or the player's part, that would be worth doing."
Yesterday, a highly-placed Hammers source told Sports Direct News that even in the event that a work permit is secured for the 20 year old, the Irons chief may still turn down the chance to sign him.
The source stated yesterday: "The deal for Zapata is there and can be taken up if the work permit appeal goes through- but it is a sign of the manager's determination to get things absolutely right that he is still looking around [for alternative signings]."
